A
Southwest Fourth of July
2011
If you are looking for something fun to do over the Fourth of July holiday, consider one of these trips into the American Southwest.
Lyman Lake State Park AZ
Created as an irrigation reservoir by damming the Little Colorado River, Lyman Lake State Park is a 1,200-acre park that encompasses the shoreline of a 1,500-acre reservoir at an elevation of 6,000 feet. The park offers Camping Cabins, Yurts, campsites, and group campsites. In addition to the recreation opportunities, Lyman Lake SP is also home to Rattlesnake Point Pueblo and Petroglyph Trail. These areas offer a glimpse of prehistory of Arizona. The July 4th weekend brings the annual Fire Over Water 4th of July Fireworks celebration, sponsored by the Arizona State Parks Foundation.
