Thanks Joe. I appreciate the compliment. Actually, as a shooter, you'd probably find Painted Rock fairly fascinating, especially during early or late "golden" light. Driving remaining sections of the great old roads like US 80 (where that bridge is located) or Route 66 are real time machines back to the '50s and '60s. I spent several years while living in Houston driving endless miles on the FM roads in east & central Texas. Great times, better BBQ.

You can't miss the lights. When I passed through in '86, there was a signed Marfa Lights pull-out and parking area between Marfa and Alpine. The lights were there and strange, to say the least.
Marfa was pretty odd too. Back then it looked like a Twilight Zone set for a town perfectly frozen in the fiftys. Your photography is terrific, by the way.

Looks like you know WestTex. Have you ever tried to capture an image of the Marfa Lights?

hehe, if my oldest daughter hadn't moved sight unseen to ABQ I may still have thought NM was a flat sand desert with saguaros!!!!!! Anyway for the last six years or so I come out twice a year and roam all over.

Be glad to join the desert photo site once I find it. I'll get some pics up soon. Most are slides and few are scanned
