Drizzle in Dryden

I started to do this blog a couple of weeks ago and other projects got in the way. . .

We were setting on the tailgate having a brunch of pastries that we had picked up at Shirley's Burnt Biscuit in Marathon and were pondering the future of our trip. The visibility was about a quarter of a mile and the forecast wasn't promising. It occurred to me that it probably doesn't drizzle much in Dryden so I decided that maybe we needed a record of it. Of course, it doen't take much to convince me that an image needs to be made.

It also occurred to me that I might have a second career as a rainmaker. If an arid part of the country needs rain they could just hire me to show up with a camera. I think San Diego had near record rainfall when I was there in 2005 and I only had a point and shoot because we were meeting friends. (I shudder to think of the flooding that might have resulted from bringing serious equipment.)

The only problem is that it doesn't seem to work here. No rain, just wind.

    Another Excuse

This is great! I needed another excuse to engage in my favorite pastime: photographing the desert and ghost towns.
